Addresses

Address object can be used as part of Standalone Address Management or Advanced Address Management. Depending on the address management option, Address object can act as the followings:

  • Default address storage - Address object contains ALL address data and used under parent objects without address fields on the parents.

  • Add-on address storage - Each record in the Address object is in addition to the ones on the parent without being rolled up to the parent.

  • Primary address storage - Address object contains all addresses and serves as the primary place to manage addresses but it also interacts with parent objects. Every time an address is added/edited/deleted on the parent, the change is rolled down to the Address object. When a record on the address object is added/edited/deleted, it is rolled up to the parent.

Create a US address

  • Create new Address record.

Required fields for saving to address book: Name (First & Last) OR Company, Line 1, City & State OR Postal Code

Required fields for verification: Line 1, City & State OR Postal Code

  • Save the record

Create an international address

  • Create new Address record.

Required fields for saving to address book: Name (First & Last) OR Company, Line 1

Required fields for verification: Line 1 and Country

  • Save the record

Edit an address

  • Use in-line editing on the Address record OR

  • Click Edit button and edit fields on the Address record OR

  • Edit in Address Central

When you edit an address that has already been verified or saved to address book, then all original service provider related field values will be cleared.

Save to address book

To add an address to your service provider's address book, address has to be saved.

Required fields for US address: Name (First & Last) OR Company, Line 1, City & State OR Postal Code

Required fields for international address: Name (First & Last) OR Company, Line 1

  • Edit the Address record

  • If all required and desired fields are filled in, select the Save to Address Book checkbox

  • Save the record

OR

  • Edit the Address record

  • If all required and desired fields are filled in, save the record

  • Push Save to Address Book button

  • If the address is processed In Address Book , Verified and Address ID (External) fields should get populated.

  • If address is not save In Address Book and Verified checkboxes are false and Address ID (External) field is empty.

  • Address Error field shows error details.

Verify an address

Required fields for US address: Line 1, City & State OR Postal Code

Required fields or international address: Line 1 and Country

  • Open the Address record

  • If all required and desired fields are filled in, select the Verify checkbox

  • Save the record

OR

  • Open the Address record

  • Fill in required and desired fields

  • Save the record and use Address Central for verification

  • Click Verify on Address Central

OR

  • Open the Address record

  • Fill in required and desired fields

  • Save the record

  • Click Verify button

  • If the address is recognized as a legitimate address, Verified , Verification ID (External) and Deliverability fields get populated.

  • Address format changes to a standardized version (read more about standardization).

  • If address is not recognized Verified checkbox is false, Deliverability and Verification ID (External) fields remain empty.

  • Address Error field shows details.

Clone an address

  • Click Clone button

If you clone an address that is already saved in address book and/or verified then address management related field values get deleted on the new record.
