Custom Metadata Types

This package has three Custom Metadata Types: Address Object Definition, Default Address, & Service Provider.

Address Object Definition

It defines which objects manage Address Blocks through mapping their fields.

By default, Address Object Definition has 3 custom metadata records, each representing an address block: Default Address, Mailing Address, and Other Address.

Create new address block

  • Navigate to Custom Metadata Types

Lightning: Setup | In the Quick Find, search and click: "Custom Metadata Types".

  • On the All Custom Metadata Types page, click "Manage Records" next to Address Object Definition to add new Address Block record.

  • On the list of Address Object Definition records, click New

  • Name the new Address Block and select the standard object that will be used for address management and verification.

  • Select fields to map.

  • Save - Ready to use the new Address Block on the selected standard object

Create new Address Block for Custom Object

Create new fields on the selected custom object to match required fields and optional fields. Display them on the object's layout.

  • Navigate to Custom Metadata Types

Lightning: Setup | In the Quick Find, search and click: "Custom Metadata Types".

  • On the All Custom Metadata Types page, click "Manage Records" next to Address Object Definition to add new Address Block record.

  • On the list of Address Object Definition records, click New

  • Name the new Address Block and select the custom object that will be used for address management and verification.

  • Select fields to map.

  • Save - Ready to use the new Address Block on the selected custom object

Default Address

It stores your addresses that are added as default in Settings page. It includes the minimally required address fields: Name, Company, Line 1, Line 2, City, State, Country, Postal Code, and Address ID.

Service Provider

It stores all service provider's accounts related information including environment type definition (test, live), API key setting, rate limit settings, and default accounts setting.

By default, it has two custom metadata records representing a Lob account's test and live keys: Lob (Test) & Lob (Live).
